NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team announced its schedule for the 2022 campaign this afternoon, the program's second season under head coach Ashley David.
The Falcons are slated to play 30 matches in 2022, with 13 home contests and 17 away or neutral bouts. AMC will also play 13 matches as a part of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schedule.
Albertus kicks off the year with four straight home contests. The Falcons' season-opener is slated for Thursday, Sept. 1, when they will welcome Bay Path University for a 7 p.m. matchup. AMC then hosts Purchase State and Fisher College for a non-conference tri-match on Saturday, Sept. 3, before playing Mitchell College at home on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m.
The Falcons then hit the road for non-league matches against Lehman College (Sept. 8) and St. Joseph's (L.I.) University (Sept. 10), and a neutral-site tilt versus Hartwick College (Sept. 10). Albertus follows those two road matches with three straight home bouts, first taking on Curry College on Wednesday, Sept. 14, before a tri-match against Sarah Lawrence College and Ramapo College on Saturday, Sept. 17.
A road match at Fisher (Sept. 20) and a home bout versus Salem State (Sept. 22) precede the Falcons' first GNAC tri-match of the season against Dean College and Regis (Mass.) College on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Weston, Mass. AMC concludes the month on Thursday, Sept. 29, with a 6 p.m. road clash at Curry.
Albertus kicks off October with a home tri-match on the first day of the month, welcoming both Emmanuel (Mass.) College and Colby-Sawyer College to the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.
Following the tri-match against the Saints and Chargers, the Falcons won't return home for the next two weeks as they play MCLA (Oct. 5), Norwich University (Oct. 8), Rivier University (Oct. 8), and Mitchell (Oct. 10) on the road all before their next home match.
AMC then welcomes Anna Maria College and Saint Joseph's (Me.) College for a tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 15, as a part of the College's Homecoming Festivities. The Homecoming tri-match precedes the Falcons' final home contest of the 2022 regular season versus Elms College on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.
Albertus plays on the road for the remainder of the regular season, with matches at Salem State (Oct. 17), Suffolk University (Oct. 20), Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University (Oct. 22), and the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Oct. 29). AMC also has neutral-site GNAC matches against Lasell University (Oct. 22) and Simmons University (Oct. 29) on the docket, the latter standing as Albertus' regular-season finale.
