Albertus Magnus Names Adam Raffone As New Head Tennis Coach

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Adam Raffone as its new men's and women's tennis coach.

Most recently Raffone has been the head coach of the Hamden High School Boys tennis team since 2021. In his first season, Raffone led the Green Dragons to a 10-8 record and a first round win in the state tournament.

Raffone has coached tennis in Hamden and Woodbridge for over ten years. Raffone and his family created the Ralph V. Raffone tennis scholarship in memory of his father that benefits Hamden High School students involved with tennis.

"I'm thrilled and honored to be the new head coach for the Albertus Magnus tennis team," Raffone said. "I'm looking forward to bringing my passion for the sport to both the men's and women's teams, and I can't wait to work with such talented and dedicated athletes."

Raffone is also the head of library security training and development at Yale's Sterling Memorial Library.

Raffone earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology and criminal justice from Southern Connecticut State University.

"Adam Raffone is both well-connected and well-respected here in the Connecticut tennis community," Albertus Magnus Director of Athletics Michael Kobylanski said. "It was evident throughout the interview process that his previous experiences within the sport provided the foundation needed to guide our programs at this time. We look forward to Adam leading our women's and men's tennis teams to new heights in the GNAC in the future."
