Herpy and Scott Honored as Falcon Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In this week's "Taking Flight" Players of the Week, Albertus Magnus College recognized the incredible performances by men's ice hockey player Ryan Herpy (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and women's basketball player Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.). 

In a trio of games played, Scott averaged 17.7 points, 4.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals with a .452 field goal percentage average. Scott led all scorers with 21 points with four rebounds and four assists in the 71-63 victory in The Nest over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Norwich University on Saturday. Scott has now scored 20 or more points in nine games this season, including three of her last four games. Scott moved up to eighth all-time in scoring in program history with 1,354 points in her career after scoring 16 points in a 59-55 win over Emmanuel on Tuesday.

Herpy scored his first career goal in a 6-3 win against Rivier University on January 27 at the 18:11 mark of the third period after stealing the puck from Liam Hennessy and sending it down the ice into the net for the final tally of the game for a 6-3 win over the Raiders. In back-to-back games against the Raiders, the senior defender denied four shots, including a trio on the Raiders' home ice on Saturday. For the second straight season, was named as a nominee for the 2024 Hockey Humanitarian Award on January 17.
