Johnson and Bonilla Recognized as Falcon Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In this week's "Taking Flight" Players of the Week, Albertus Magnus College recognized the incredible performances by women's ice hockey player Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and men's basketball player Antonio Bonilla (Tenafly, N.J.). 

Johnson stopped a career-high 54 shots, including 21 in the third period as the Falcons concluded the weekend series with Alvernia, 1-0-1. The first-year totaled 89 saves across the two games and only allowed a single goal in each contest. The goalkeeper has racked up 778 saves so far this season with a .927 save percentage.

In a 2-0 week for the Falcons, Bonilla averaged 30 points, five rebounds, and 2.5 steals on 56/50/100 shooting splits in the two contests. The senior broke the program record with 11 three-pointers and scored a career-high 42 points in 23 minutes in a 114-60 win over Anna Maria College. Then he scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 88-72 road win over Regis College. For the season, Bonilla averages 15.0 points per game and leads the conference with 3.1 three-pointers made per game.
