Junior Baseball Player Tom Moore Named GNAC Pitcher of the Week

Winthrop, Mass. – Albertus Magnus College junior baseball player Tom Moore (East Haven, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday morning as announced by the league office.

Moore becomes the first Falcon to earn weekly accolades this spring and it also marks the first time in his career he has been recognized for his performance on the bump by the league.

The lefty went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA out of the bullpen last week, striking out four while walking none in six innings. In Game 1 of a doubleheader versus Rivier, Moore tossed a scoreless frame to earn his second win. In Game 2 against the Raiders, he threw five scoreless innings and scattered three hits to pick up the victory. He struck out three hitters in relief as Albertus Magnus erased a two-run deficit to rally for the win.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Wednesday, April 27, with a road non-conference doubleheader versus in-state rival Western Connecticut State that is slated to begin at 4:00 pm. Last spring the two squads split a doubleheader.
