POSTSEASON
The second-seeded Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team held off the third-seeded Lasers of Lasell University, 96-82, in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Semifinal on Saturday afternoon, advancing the Falcons to their 10th straight GNAC Championship Game.

The Falcons' will square off against the top-seeded Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (CT) in the Championship game on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 3:00 PM inside the O'Connell Center in West Hartford, Conn.

POSTSEASON NOTES

  • This year marks Albertus' 21st all-time appearance in the GNAC Tournament.
  • The Falcons own a 37-12 overall record in the league tournament.
  • Albertus has won eight GNAC Tournament Titles, with head coach Mitch Oliver leading them to seven championships.
  • The Falcons are making their 10th straight appearance in the GNAC Championship Game. 
  • AMC has won seven consecutive home GNAC Tournament games. 
  • Albertus made the GNAC semifinals in each of their last 13 seasons.
  • The Falcons own the third-longest active streak in all three divisions (I, II, and III) of consecutively appearing in their conference's title game. 

2021-22 RECAP

  • The Falcons finished the regular season with a 15-6 overall record and a 13-3 mark in the GNAC to earn the No. 2 seed in the league tournament.
  • Albertus started the season 5-1, which included high-profile wins over Rutgers-Camden, Keene State, and Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
  • AMC went 4-2 in January, defeating Emmanuel (Mass.), Elms College, Norwich University, and Dean College.
  • The Falcons went on a four-game winning streak to close out the season, defeating Johnson & Wales University, Colby-Sawyer College, Regis (Mass.) University, and Johnson & Wales University.
  • Tyreek Perkins (New Haven, Conn.) scored his 1,000th career point in an 87-82 thriller over Emmanuel (Mass.) on Jan. 15.
  • Ranked in Region 1 in both NCAA Division III Regional Rankings this season.
  • Mekhi Warren (New Haven, Conn.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week in Week 8.
