Sember Crowned GNAC Golfer of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – For the first time in his career, Albertus Magnus College men's golf senior Ryan Sember (Branford, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league this afternoon.

Sember took part in three events last week, finishing in the top eight of each. On Monday, the linksman began his week with six-over 77 at the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University to take fifth place on the leaderboard. He followed that up with an eighth-place showing at the Emmanuel Invitational on Wednesday with a round of 79 (+9).

Sember capped off the week by winning medalist honors at the Brett Williamson Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University on Thursday. The reigning GNAC Player of the Year carded a season-best two-over 73 to best the 56-person field. As a team, the Falcons finished in third, third, and fourth place, respectively, at the three events.

The men's golf team will next hit the course to defend their GNAC Championship. The two-day event is scheduled to take place at the New Haven Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 11-12.
