HOW IT HAPPENED
It took the Falcons just 1:34 to open the game's scoring tonight, as Stein tallied his team-leading 10th goal. The play was sparked when Alex Gagnon (Montreal, Quebec) stole the puck on the other end and fired a pass to Ryan Herpy (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), who fed Stein for the one-on-one opportunity.

Albertus continued to add to its lead 7:38 into the opening frame, with Manning capitalizing on a turnover by the visitors. With the puck behind the net, JJ Berdal (Wausau, Wis.) found Harley Michaels (Kirkland, Quebec) before he sent a rocket pass to Manning, who split two defenders before beating the keeper to his glove side.

The three-goal first period was capped off by a power-play strike at the 10:01 mark. Weitzman put the home squad up 3-0 after receiving a Michaels' pass in front of the crease and backhanding it by the sliding goalie. Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta) also earned an assist on the play.

Trailing 3-0 in the second period, the Roos finally broke onto the scoreboard at the 6:32 mark, cutting the deficit to 3-1 with a goal by Bailey Conklin.

The Falcons did not take long to answer the Canton tally, retaking a three-goal lead, 4-1, 1:27 later. AMC's fourth goal was created by stellar passing between the team's second liners, as Stein sent Gagnon a pass out of the corner that Gagnon backhanded to Ignazzitto for a strike to the top-right corner.

Both teams scored in the third period, with the Falcons icing a 5-2 victory after Risk's goal. Following a turnover in the neutral zone at the 5:26 mark, Risk and Ryan Colwell (Plainedge, N.Y.) hit a give-and-go pass, freeing Risk up for enough space to score.

Bateman collected his 11th win of the season with 23 saves on the evening. The junior netminder has lost just once in his last 13 starts.
