HOW IT HAPPENED
The first period was a defensive battle between the Falcons and Roos, as neither team scored in the opening 20 minutes. Bateman needed just three saves in the frame to maintain a clean sheet.

Canton kicked off the second period with the game's first goal, with Filip Jakobsson scoring at the 12:22 mark. The Roos capitalized on a turnover in their zone as Colton Sipperley slid a pass to Jake Mayette, who found Jakobsson streaking across the crease for the goal to Bateman's glove side.

Albertus needed just 44 seconds to answer, as the home squad scored on the power play 13:06 into the second. The first of Stein's goals came on a 3-on-2 opportunity, as Colwell found a streaking Stein for a diving shot. Alex Gagnon (Montreal, Quebec) sparked the goal with a long pass to Colwell.

After an even-fought first two periods, the Falcons blew the game wide open in the third. The first of four goals came from Stein at the 2:21 mark. The eventual game-winner came after a wide shot from Harley Michaels (Kirkland, Quebec) as the puck bounced straight to Gagnon. The junior then flipped a pass to Stein for a beautiful backhand over the keeper's left shoulder.

Anderson was next to score in the third, making it a 3-1 game 7:50 into the frame. After a save of a Colwell shot, Anderson was waiting to cash in on the confusion at the net. JJ Berdal (Wausau, Wis.) also earned an assist on the goal.

Anderson also sparked the next goal, starting a breakaway opportunity by stealing the puck in his defensive zone. Anderson then found Allan, who out-hustled a defender for a one-on-one chance at the net to put the home team ahead by three, 4-1, 12:14 into the third.

Colwell sealed the Falcons' win with an empty-netter with two seconds remaining. Ryan Herpy (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) sent Colwell a pass in the neutral zone that the freshman fired into the back of the goal.

Bateman continued his impressive streak of play, winning his 12th game in 16 starts this year.
