Gagnon Tallies Four Points in Men’s Ice Hockey Win over Connecticut College, 4-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior forward Alex Gagnon (Montreal, Quebec) tallied a career-high four points on two goals and two assists to guide the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team to a 4-1 home win over Connecticut College on Friday evening at the Ralph Walker Skating Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons wasted no time taking the first lead of tonight's game, scoring a power-play goal 27 seconds into the contest.
  • Following a boarding call on a Camels' player at the 26-second mark, Austin Cook (West Berlin, N.J.) found an open Gagnon in the left faceoff circle, where he fired a one-timer into the corner of the cage.

  • Albertus scored again at the end of the first to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
  • Gagnon also orchestrated the second goal of the night, as he sent a shot in from the blue line that a camped Tim Manning (Concord, Ohio) tipped up and over the glove hand of the moving keeper.

  • The Camels made things interesting in the final seconds of the second period, making it a one-goal game, 2-1, after an even-strength score from Jake Hughes.
  • Gagnon's night improved in the third period, as he stole the puck in his zone and assisted Coleton Cianci (Kirkland, Quebec) on a goal to make it a 3-1 AMC lead at the 8:44 mark.

  • Gagnon capped his impressive outing and the Falcons' win by tallying the night's final goal at the 12:31 mark of the third.
  • After rebounding a Gagnon shot from behind the net, JJ Berdal (Wausau, Wis.) found Gagnon for the contest's final goal to settle the score at 4-1. 

  • Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) tallied his 11th win of the season by making 27 saves on 28 shots.
