BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons opened the game's scoring in the first 1:24 of the contest on a goal by Luke James (Moon Township, Pa.).
  • Stephen Kyrkostas (Long Island, N.Y.) skated the puck around the back of the net before sending a shot toward James, who redirected it through the goalie's five-hole.
  • After the Red Dragons evened the game at 1-1 with a power-play goal, Kyler Campbell (Huntsville, Ontario) gave the visitors the lead again, 2-1, heading into the first intermission.
  • Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) sparked the scoring play by recording a saved shot on an odd-man rush. The save fell right to Campbell, who cashed in stick-side for his first collegiate goal.
  • The Falcons and Red Dragons skated to a scoreless second period, as the contest transitioned to the third with Albertus ahead 2-1.
  • AMC added to its advantage by scoring the first goal of the third period at 4:14.
  • Campbell started the scoring chance by poking the puck away in his defensive zone for it to find its way to Austin Cook (West Berlin, N.J.). Cook then sent a pass to a streaking Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.), who calmly snipped the top-left corner.
  • Unfortunately for Albertus, Cortland answered by scoring the next two goals to even the score at 3-3 by the 10:45 mark.
  • The Falcons broke through the deadlock by capitalizing off a Red Dragons' penalty late in the game.
  • With an extra skater, Gagnon sealed AMC's 4-3 win by scoring from the left faceoff circle after some back-and-forth passing with Weitzman at 17:48.
  • In goal, Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) made 29 saves on 32 shots to improve to 12-4 on the season.
