WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team suffered a hard-fought overtime loss to Williams College, 3-2, on Friday evening in Williamstown, Mass. The Ephs earned tonight's victory by scoring a goal in the final minute of regulation before netting the game-winner 2:14 into OT.

BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons took the first lead of the game at 16:10 in the opening period on a goal from Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta).
  • Albertus capitalized on a giveaway by an Ephs skater, as Tim Manning (Concord, Ohio) stole the puck at the point and found an open Alex Gagnon (Montreal, Quebec) in the left slot. Gagnon fired a shot that was saved, but Anderson cleaned up the rebound to give AMC a 1-0 advantage.
  • Williams scored the lone goal of the second period off the stick of Jonah Gold to send the contest into the third tied at 1-1.
  • The Falcons broke through in a defensive third period to take a 2-1 advantage behind a goal from Dino Antoniadis (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) at 17:15 in the third.
  • Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) started the scoring play by bringing the puck up the ice and rocketing a shot that the opposing keeper made a stick save to stop. Luckily for AMC, the stick save allowed the puck to fall straight down, which let Antoniadis score on the rebound.
  • Unfortunately for the Falcons, Williams capitalized on its last gasp, scoring with 52 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
  • The action went back and forth to start OT until the Ephs ended tonight's contest with a game-winning goal at 2:14.
  • Nicholas Rashkovsky sealed the win for the home team by wrapping around the goal and beating the AMC keeper to the bottom-left corner.
  • Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) started tonight's game in goal for Albertus and finished a perfect 15-for-15 in save opportunities over 18:37.
  • Joseph Giacobbo (Deptford, N.J.) entered in relief and made 29 saves, including multiple diving stops in the third period, over his 43:37.
