HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Coleton Cianci (Kirkland, Quebec) got the Falcons on the board early in the first period, as the senior forward took passes from Connor Bertamini (Calgary, Alberta) and Spencer Silver (North Wales, Pa.) and launched a missile through the goalkeeper's legs to give AMC a 1-0 advantage at the 6:51 mark.

  • The Falcons regained the lead at the 16:55 mark of the first period on a power-play strike from Anderson. Anderson took a pass from Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) and rifled a shot past the Monarchs' keeper to give Albertus the lead again, 2-1.

  • Anderson struck again in the second period. The sophomore forward streaked up the ice and took a perfect pass from Kyler Campbell (Huntsville, Ontario) before finding the corner of the net for the score and doubling the Falcons' advantage, 3-1, with 5:56 remaining in the second frame.

  • King's Patrick Nowack cut the Falcons' advantage in half with an even-strength tally at the 15:30 mark of the second frame.
  • The Monarchs' Casey Gerstein tied the game at 3-3 on a power-play strike at the 19:34 minute mark of the second period.
  • The teams skated to a scoreless draw in the third period and headed into overtime, with the score still knotted at 3-all.
  • Despite out-shooting the Monarchs by a 7-2 margin in overtime, the Falcons could not put the go-ahead puck in goal, and the game ended in a 3-3 tie.
