HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons took the first lead of the game 3:58 into the first period on a goal from Berdal.
  • After winning a face-off in their offensive zone, Risk found an open Berdal waiting near the right wing, who fired the puck past the keeper's glove for the early score.
  • Trailing the Falcons by one, Alvernia evened the game just 53 seconds into the second period on a power-play goal from Jason Finan.
  • Albertus countered Alvernia's power-play goal five minutes later, as Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) cashed in on a power-play opportunity to give the Falcons a one-goal cushion, 2-1.
  • Connor Bertamini (Calgary, Alberta) and Antoniadis passed the puck back and forth before Pattison swooped in and delivered a rocket past an out-of-position keeper for the score.
  • Six minutes later, the Falcons struck again as the hosts took advantage of another won face-off and an extra man opportunity to increase their lead to two, 3-1.
  • Weitzman netted the Falcons' third goal of the game after firing a shot from the neutral zone following assists from Risk and Gagnon.
  • Unfortunately for the Falcons, Alvernia scored late in the second and twice more in the third period to hand AMC the 4-3 setback.
