NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team fell to the Colonels of Wilkes University during Saturday evening's home opener, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wilkes offense broke through at the 11:19 minute mark to score the first goal from Max Cocchi. Just seven minutes later, the Colonels tabbed in a second goal from Miles Harrington during a power play. The Falcons just nearly edged the Colonels in shots during the first period, 11-10, but were unable to score.

Albertus continued to push to score, taking 11 shots in the second period compared to Wilkes' eight. During a power play for Wilkes, Patrick Roginski found the opportunity to push the Colonels lead to 3-0.

The Falcon defense held the Colonels scoreless in the third period, limiting Wilkes to only three shots. At the 11:39 minute mark, Gustav Müller (Hudiksvall, Sweden) found the opportunity to score for the Falcons as he received a pass from William Lavigne (Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, Québec) and snuck around the backside of the Colonels' goal to slide one past the goaltender.

Despite holding the upper hand in shots, 39-21, there was not enough time for the Falcons to make a comeback.
