Men’s Ice Hockey to Host 'Do It For Daron' Benefit Game on December 2

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team is partnering with Do It For Daron (DIFD) to raise awareness for youth mental health in Canada and the United States for its game against Canton on Saturday, December 2 at Ralph Walker Skating Rink.

The foundation was established in honor of Daron Richardson, a youth hockey player in Canada who lost her battle with mental illness in November 2010. The DIFD organization promotes positive youth mental health and awareness, and looks to support those who suffer from the stigma of mental illness.

In addition to hosting the DIFD game, the team will be holding a charity raffle to raise funds for DIFD. Items include various baskets and gift cards from local New Haven businesses. The price of tickets will be three for $10, seven for $20 and 20 for $50. The raffle will be drawn at the end of the game. Any donation is encouraged for admission to the game.

Additionally, the Albertus Magnus team will be wearing purple game jerseys that will also be auctioned off after the game.

Donations can be made to @Kyle-Wallack on Venmo or Sanderson1@albertus.edu on Etransfer.
