HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Albertus dominated the first period, outshooting Canton, 21-4. The Falcons eventually got on the board with a goal from Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) at the 10:50 mark. On the goal, Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta) took a rebound on the initial shot from Kindrachuk, passed it behind his back to Kindrachuk, and put it through for his seventh goal of the season.
  • The Falcons went into the first intermission with a one-goal lead. In a much more evenly played second period, the Falcons got their second goal of the game at 14:09 as Charles Lavoie (Chicoutimi, Quebec) scored in his second straight game after Bailey Kirwin (Barrie, Ontario) beat two defenders and passed it across to Lavoie in front of the net and the Falcons went up, 2-0.
  • The third period started with a 5-on-3 advantage for Canton and it took advantage just 1:11 into the period on a wrist shot from Evan Pringle who made it a 2-1 game.
  • Canton tied the game less than three minutes later as Pringle found Brendan Morrow on the power play as Morrow stood alone by the left pipe and put it past Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario).
  • The Kangaroos took the lead at the 7:30 mark on a goal from Jackson Drysdale off a pass from Trevor Christopher.
  • Just 2:27 later the Falcons tied the game back up as Weitzman skated right into a rebound off a shot from Zane Kindrachuk and scored his third goal of the season and program-leading 30th career goal.
  • With just over seven minutes remaining, the Falcons got their lead back as Zeth Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) took a backhanded pass from Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) on a breakaway and found the open left side of the net to give Albertus the lead for good.
