HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Dann didn't take long to get Albertus on the board at the 1:54 mark in the first period. As Castleton attempted to clear the puck, Gustav Muller (Hudiksvall, Sweden) took the puck away and made a pass off the boards to Dann, who fired a shot from just inside the left faceoff circle into the back of the net to give the Falcons the early 1-0 lead. It was the first goal of Dann's career.
  • The Spartans tied the game with just over three minutes left in the period on a goal from Justin Stairs who took a shot from the boards in an attempt to keep the puck in the offensive zone.
  • In a span of 64 seconds there were three goals scored midway through the second period.
  • At the 9:25 mark in the second, Hicks took a pass from Charles Lavoie (Chicoutimi, Quebec) and fired a shot from between the faceoff circle and blue line over the right shoulder of Castleton goaltender Dominic Rodrigue to put Albertus back up a goal.
  • The lead didn't last long as 17 seconds later Jackson Hunter chased down a loose puck and passed it to Stone Stelzl who found an open left side of the net to tie the game, 2-2.
  • Albertus again took a one-goal lead for the third time as Dann scored his second of the game at the 10:29 mark of the second while taking a shot while falling towards the goal that trickled in to put Albertus up, 3-2.
  • The Falcons took the one-goal lead into the third, but Castleton took advantage of the power play, scoring twice on a two-man advantage on goals from Zach Papapetros at the 8:20 mark and Bryce Irwin at the 10:02 mark.
  • Just 53 seconds later, Manning tied the game back up on a give and go with Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario) and took a shot from the left circle for his first goal of the season.
  • Anderson's heroics came at the 18:21 mark in the third as he redirected a blue line shot from Eric Chamandy (Montreal, Quebec) right in front of the net for his fifth goal of the season.
