NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team continued their hot play with a 6-0 win over Nichols College at Ralph Walker Ice Rink on Saturday evening.

Six different players scored goals for the Falcons. Connor Bertamini (Calgary, Alberta) had a goal and an assist as did Paden Hicks (Kansas City, Mo.). Sam Witt (Calgary, Alberta) had two assists.

Albertus has now won seven of their last eight games.

• HOW IT HAPPENED
  A scoreless first period saw Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) of Albertus stop all 13 shots he faced and 17 shots stopped by his counterpart, Tyler Bost.
• The Falcons were finally able to get on the board twice in the second period. At the 6:06 mark, a shot from Witt which was stopped came to the feet of Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) who put home his fourth goal of the season.
• On a 4-on-4 at the 17:28 mark of the second, Harley Michaels (Kirkland, Quebec) rushed down the ice and crashed into the net as the puck crossed the goal line to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. There were six penalties, three on each team, in the period.
• Albertus wasted little time in the third period, scoring twice in the first four minutes. Tim Manning rebounded a shot from Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario), went behind the net, and passed it back to Ignazzitto who put it home for a 3-0 lead.
• Just 2:44 later, Bertamini scored off an assist from Hicks. Bertamini returned the favor to Hicks late in the period at the 16:10 mark as he made a pass through traffic to Hicks, who was in front of the net to make it a 5-0 game. It was the third goal of the season for Hicks.
• The icing on the win came on a goal from Sam Anderson 61 seconds later as he scored on an assist from Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) in a scrum in front of the net for the final tally.

NOTEWORTHY

• The shutout was the first of the season for Bateman and the fifth of his career.
• It was the fourth time the Falcons have scored at least six goals.
• The 62 shots on goal were a season-high and in the second game this season they have taken at least 60 shots.
• Hicks has registered a point in three of the last four games.
• Ignazzitto scored his first goal of the season and has had points in four of the last five games.
• It was the third two-point game for Bertamini this season.
