NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team swept the weekend series with Neumann University, shutting out the Knights, 4-0 on Saturday evening at Ralph Walker Ice Rink.

The Falcons got two goals from Zeth Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) as well as goals from Charles Lavoie (Chicoutimi, Quebec) and JJ Berdal (Wausau, Wi.). Robert Barrasso (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) and Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) each added two assists and Bailey Kirwin (Barrie, Ontario) added one

Goaltender Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) earned his second shutout of the season in goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• A scoreless first period nearly turned into two scoreless periods until the Falcons scored two goals in the final 3:14 in the second period.
• Kindrachuk got the scoring going at the 16:46 mark as he took a pass from Barrasso and raced down the ice, taking a wrist shot past Neumann goaltender Cal Ambrose to make it a 1-0 game.
• Just 80 seconds later, Lavoie scored his fourth goal of the season as Pattison skated around the net and found him in a scrum of players to make it a 2-0 game at the 18:06 mark.
• Berdal, who scored two goals the night before, added his fifth goal of the season and third of the weekend at the 8:50 mark of the third when he took a shot from just in front of the blue line that rattled off the crossbar and into the net to make it a 3-0 game.
• Kindrachuk added his second goal at 15:49 in the third period as Barrasso backhanded a pass that deflected off a defender back to Kindrachuk. From there, he and Kirwin played a little give and go in front of the net and Kindrachuk put home his seventh goal of the season.
