Men's Lacrosse Announces Captains for 2022 Campaign

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse head coach Darryl Delia has announced Andrew Luzzi (East Haven, Conn.), Derek Ralston (Guilford, Conn.), Dane Walsh (Bethany, Conn.) and Will Capalbo (Fairfield, Conn.) as captains for the 2022 season.

A senior from East Haven, Conn., Luzzi returns as a captain for a second year. Luzzi has played in 24 games for the Falcons as a defensive midfielder.

Now a two-time captain from Guilford, Conn., Ralston has played and started as a defender in nine contests throughout his career.

A senior goalie from Bethany, Conn., Walsh is in his fourth year in the Albertus program and another multi-year captain for the Falcons. Walsh has played in 23 games throughout his tenure, starting the last 11 games over the past two seasons, accumulating a save% of 56.2 as the Falcons' netminder.

The lone new captain for Albertus is Capalbo, a junior from Fairfield, Conn. Capalbo returns for his second year as a defenseman where he started in eight contests and played in all nine games during the shortened 2021 season.

"This group of captains has shown that they are team-first, hardworking individuals as well as great leaders on and off the field,'' said Head Coach Darryl Delia. "The experience as leaders make it a smooth transition coming into the 2022 season."

Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse opens the 2022 season with an away contest at MCLA on Saturday, March 2nd, at 4 p.m.
