Walsh and Ten Earn GNAC Weekly Recognition

WINTHROP, Mass. - After starting the season with a 2-0 record, Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse players Dane Walsh (Bethany, Conn.) and Andrew Ten (Trumbull, Conn.) were awarded Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors. Walsh was tabbed as the GNAC's Goalkeeper of the Week, while Ten was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week.

Walsh was lights-out in a pair of Falcon victories last week, as the senior netminder posted a 5.38 goals-against average with a 71.1% save percentage. Walsh opened the spring campaign by tallying 12 saves in the Falcons' 7-6 overtime win over MCLA on Wednesday before closing out the week with a season-high 15 saves in a 7-5 win over Cairn on Saturday. Today marks the second time in Walsh's career that he collected GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Ten finished the week as the Falcons' leading scorer, pouring in six points on two goals and four assists. He began his collegiate career with two goals and two assists in AMC's 7-6 overtime win versus MCLA. The freshman from Trumbull, Conn., then added two more assists to his total in Albertus' 7-5 road triumph against Cairn.

The men's lacrosse team will remain on the road to play Purchase College in non-conference action on Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m.
