Men's Lacrosse Falls on the Road at Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team suffered a 17-3 road setback to the Bulldogs of Dean College on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

Senior goalie Dane Walsh (Bethany, Conn.) finished the contest with a career-high 25 saves. On offense, Charles Stewart (Stratford, Conn.) paced the Falcons with two points on one goal and one assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bulldogs burst out of the gates to begin today's game, scoring five goals in the first quarter to take an early 5-0 lead.

Dean began the second quarter with a goal to pull ahead 6-0 6:59 into the frame. Stewart opened the scoring for the Falcons in the second period, tallying an unassisted score at the 6:44 mark to make it a 6-1 game.

Unfortunately for Albertus, Dean went on to score the next nine goals to pull ahead 15-1 by the 7:50 mark of the fourth quarter.

Zaheim Wilkins (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) halted the home team's run with 6:55 left in the fourth, burying a man-up goal on a Stewart assist to cut the deficit to 15-2.

Jayme Toro (East Haven, Conn.) gave the Falcons back-to-back goals at the 6:09 mark to make it a 15-3 game. However, Dean answered with two consecutive man-up tallies in the final 3:33 to ice a 17-3 home win.
