Falcons Fall to Emmanuel 3-0

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team fell to Emmanuel 3-0 on Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

Albertus falls to 1-6 on the year and 0-3 in GNAC play with the loss, while Emmanuel improves to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in league action.

Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) led the Falcons with 12 kills in 28 tries as he registered seven kills in 10 attempts in the second frame.  Eric Woodcox (Burlington, Conn.) dished out 13 assists on the night.

Emmanuel won game one by a dominating 25-6 score as the Saints jumped out to a 6-0 lead before extending it to 10-2.  Led by stellar serving by Ashanti Jackson and Drew Jordan, the Saints pushed their lead to 17-3 en route to the 25-6 victory.

Emmanuel hit .636 in the first set with eight kills in 11 tries. Jackson led the Saints with four kills in the frame.

Emmanuel won the second set 25-18 led by five kills from Jackson and four kills from Austin Cockerill.

Emmanuel won the final set 25-14 thanks to four kills by Jackson and four kills from Ryan Kessler.  After jumping out to an 8-2 lead, the Saints continued to add to its tally thanks the solid play by Jackson. The Saints hit .435 in the frame with 14 kills in 23 attempts.

After registering two kills in the first set, the Falcons tallied eight in the second and then eight in the third.

The Falcons return to action on March 3 when they head to Mount Ida to take on the Mustangs in league play.
