Falcons Fall to Emerson 3-0 in Men's Volleyball

The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team fell to Emerson College by a score of 3-0 on Saturday morning in the Falcons' first match of the day.

Emerson (13-11) improved to 5-8 in league action with the win to help secure the last spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament.  With the loss, Albertus fell to 3-14 on the year and 2-11 in conference play.

Emerson came out and won the opening set 25-19.  The Lions registered 16 kills in the set compared to the Falcons' eight but the Falcons tallied just four hitting miscues compared to Emerson's eight.

Emerson won the second set 25-18 before sweeping the Falcons with a 25-14 win in the final set. 

Nick Rusk led Emerson with seven kills in the third set and 14 on the afternoon. He added 13 digs.

Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) led the Falcons with eight kills on the afternoon, while Justin Tharau (Burlington, Conn.) had 11 digs.
