Following a 1-2-3 inning from the Scarlett Knights, Albertus broke open the scoring with a two-run, three-hit inning in the bottom of the first. With two outs, the Falcons managed to load the bases before Angelina Ramada (North Branford, Conn.) singled to right field driving in a pair of runs and giving the Falcons the early edge.

Despite a short second inning, Albertus resumed control offensively in the bottom half of the third as Ramada recorded her second RBI single of the game that extended the Falcons' lead to 3-0.

Over the next two innings, Albertus tacked on an additional two runs, one in the fourth and one in the fifth, increasing the lead to 5-0 heading into the top of the sixth.

Rutgers-Newark finally got on the board as Alex Di Martino scored on a Falcon miscue after finding herself on third following a single from Brianna Hernandez, bringing the score to 5-1. However, an out at third and a fly out to centerfield ended the threat and inning.

Albertus' final run of the game came in the bottom of the sixth with one out and Jess Stettinger (East Haven, Conn.) on second, following a walk and passed ball. Janelle Franklin (Middletown, Conn.) drove in Stettinger off an RBI single to center field to bring the final score to 6-1.
