WINTHROP, Mass. - After earning a complete-game victory in her first collegiate start on Sunday, Skylar Arent (New Fairfield, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Arent opened the Falcons' spring campaign with her first "W" in the circle following the Falcons' 7-1 win against St. Joseph's (L.I.) College this past Sunday. The left-hander allowed only one run on nine hits while striking out five batters. She also threw for one inning in Albertus' 8-6 win over Lancaster Bible College and allowed only two hits. At the plate, she finished the week with a slash line of .333/.333/.667 behind one hit, a double, two RBIs, and a run scored.
The Falcons have Tuesday off and will continue their spring slate on Wednesday, March 16, taking on Suffolk University at 9:30 a.m. and Greenville University at 11:30 a.m.
