Softball Continues to Shine in Latest NCAA Rankings

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College softball team continues to shine in the recent NCAA rankings as the Falcons sit within the top-10 in six different statistical categories and currently hold the longest active winning streak across all NCAA divisions (I, II, and III) with 24 straight victories. AMC also holds the third longest active home win streak at 20 games.

From the offensive standpoint, Albertus is sixth in batting average (.387), hits (354), and on-base percentage (.456), while also ranking seventh in slugging percentage (.538) and ninth in triples (17).

The Albertus pitching staff has moved up to two spots from last week to eighth in shutouts with 12.

After last week's stellar performance at the plate, Ivy Geloso (Beacon Falls, Conn.) climbed the recent NCAA rankings and sits in the top-15 in four different statistical categories – batting average, doubles, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage.

Senior hurler Erin Dighello (Wallingford, Conn.) remains locked in at the No. 15 slot as she currently has 15 wins on the season.

The Albertus Magnus softball team will return to the diamond on Wednesday, April 27th, for a home doubleheader match-up against the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University. Game times are set for 3 PM and 5 PM on the Shea Softball Field in New Haven, Conn.
