The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team will make its 12th Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament appearance on Tuesday as the seventh-seeded Falcons head to Standish, Maine to take on No. 2 Saint Joseph's College in a quarterfinal match-up. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.

The Falcons last faced the Monks on Saturday afternoon as Saint Joseph's took home a 79-75 overtime victory in both teams' final regular-season game of the season.

With the loss, the Falcons moved to 14-11 on the year and 6-7 GNAC action. Saint Joseph's improved to 12-1 in GNAC play, while moving to 18-7 on the year.

The Falcons produced their most successful season in the last eight years as their 14 regular-season wins mark the most for the program since the 2003-04 season when they finished the year 16-11. The Falcons also opened up the 2011-12 season with a 4-0 record; the best start in program history.

The last appearance in the GNAC Tournament for the Falcons came during the 2009-10 season when they defeated Suffolk in quarterfinal action 82-81 before falling to Norwich 80-57 in the semifinals. Albertus is 9-11 all-time in GNAC Tournament games, while Tuesday night's meeting marks the first for Albertus and Saint Joseph's in postseason play since the Monks joined the league in 2007.

Including Saturday's contest in New Haven, the Falcons are 0-6 all-time against the Monks dating back to the 1998-99 season.
