Senior Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team has been named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team for Division III District 2. Carrero is now a finalist for Academic All-America honors as well.

Carrero, who is majoring in criminal justice, was the first Albertus Magnus women's basketball player to earn this significant honor last season and was the College's first-ever recipient of the Capital One Academic All-America accolade last season as well.

Carrero, who has been a consistent member on the College's Dean's List, currently leads the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in points per game with a 25.9 average.  The senior has led the Falcons in points per game each season during her entire career. This season, she has scored a team-best 493 points as she became the program's all-time scoring leader on Jan. 8 at Farmingdale State. She now has over 1,700 career points.
