POSTSEASON BEGINS
The Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament and will face #7 Elms College in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. in New Haven, Conn., at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

POSTSEASON NOTES

  • This is the Falcons' seventh straight GNAC postseason appearance, extending their total to 20 overall.
  • Albertus suffered a heartbreaking 103-95 double-overtime setback to Suffolk University in its most recent postseason appearance in 2019-20.
  • The Falcons hold an all-time GNAC postseason record of 12-19.

2021-2022 RECAP

  • Albertus finished the regular season with an overall record of 16-8 and a conference mark of 15-2.
  • Albertus is riding an undefeated streak of 12 games, which is the longest of head coach JR Fredette's career.
  • Following six losses to start the season, the Falcons bounced back with key wins over conference opponents Anna Maria College and Rivier University to jump-start the season.
  • After the New Year, the Falcons went 13-1 with victories over GNAC playoff teams: Lasell University, Elms, Johnson & Wales (RI) University, Norwich University, University of Saint Joseph (CT.), Regis (Mass.) College, and Colby-Sawyer.
  • The Falcons went 9-2 at home, 7-4 on the road, and 0-2 at neutral sites.

  • The Falcons are led this season by Murray-Leach, who places third in the conference, averaging 17.4 points per game. She also paces all GNAC freshmen in scoring.
  • Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) leads the conference in assists with 3.7 per game.
  • The Falcons tallied three players in the top 20 of scoring in the conference; Murray-Leach (17.4 PPG), Scott (13.8 PPG), and White (11.5 PPG).
  • Sophomore Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) paced the Falcons in blocks and was third in the GNAC, averaging 1.8 per game.
