WINTHROP, Mass. – After an outstanding rookie season at the No. 1 singles spot for Albertus Magnus College women's tennis, freshman JuJu Oliver (New Britain, Conn.) was named to the 2021 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Tennis All-Conference First Team Singles.
Oliver played in all nine matches this season, commanding the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles role in every contest on her way to a 7-10 overall record. She finished the year with a 3-5 mark at top singles, picking up wins against Simmons University, Lesley University, and the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.). In doubles play, Oliver tallied victories against Eastern Nazarene College, Lesley, USJ (CT), and Ramapo College.
Sophomore Giana Cagna (Meriden, Conn.) was the Falcons' representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. Cagna appeared in eight matches in 2021, mostly playing No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles. The Meriden, Conn., native won once on the year, taking a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Eastern Naz in GNAC play on Sept. 24.
