NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team suffered a three-game sweep against the Mariners of Mitchell College on Thursday evening in an interstate showdown at the Yarnell Athletic Center.

Senior Jaiden Williams (Orange, Conn.) was on the verge of her first double-double of the season behind a season-high 13 assists and seven digs. Freshman Elayna Beutel (Prospect, Conn.) paced the Falcons with a season-best seven kills, while Ivanna Sanfeliz (Dorado, Puerto Rico) added six kills.

• The Falcons opened set one with a 13-9 lead following a 4-0 run sparked by an attack error by the Mariners. However, Mitchell battled back, tying the game at 15-all before closing the set on a 10-1 run.
• The second set saw three ties before Mitchell took control offensively, 13-8, forcing Coach David to call a timeout to speak to her Lady Falcons. Despite the timeout, the Mariners continued to dominate offensively and secured set two, 25-13.
• Albertus could not stop the Mariners from opening the third and final set by a score of 22-9. The Falcons rallied together with a 5-2 run to cut the deficit to 10, 24-14, but Mitchell claimed the final set and match, 25-14.
