NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department recognized Janelle Franklin (Middletown, Conn.) of the softball team and Shamar Wilson (Montego Bay, Jamaica) of the men's golf team as the Falcon Spotlight Players of the Week.
Franklin batted .517 (8-of-14) with three runs scored and one RBI in a 2-2 week for the Falcons at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs. The Middletown, Conn. native recorded a hit in three of the four games, including a walk-off single in the 4-3 win against Lasell in the quarterfinal round. On Tuesday, May 9th, the GNAC released All-Conference awards, placing Franklin on the Third Team.
Wilson placed first overall in the men's golf team match against SUNY Old Westbury on Thursday, May 4. The standout freshman completed the par 70 course with a score of 74 (+4) at the New Haven Country Club.
