    WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College pitching staff gave up just one run over the course of 13 innings of work in a doubleheader sweep of the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Wednesday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) twinbill. Albertus won game one, 11-0 in six innings, and took game two, 3-1.

    STANDISH, Me. - Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.) pitched a masterful performance in game one and the Albertus Magnus College softball team scored six runs in game two as the Falcons swept Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) 2-1 in eight innings and 9-4 on Sunday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader. In game one, Jabs pitched a complete game, giving up just one earned run on four hits while striking out six. A Hailey Laforte (Branford, Conn.) sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth proved to be the game winner.

    Across a pair of games, the Albertus Magnus College softball team drove in 17 total runs for a doubleheader victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent Dean College on Saturday, with five coming off the bats of Alexis Enjem (Derby, Conn.) and four from Skylar Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Amanda Savinelli (New Haven, Conn.). The Falcons dominated in the first game with a 13-1 triumph over the Bulldogs and came out on top, 4-0, in game two.

    Despite leading by three runs in back-to-back games, the Albertus Magnus College softball team is bested by late rallies from Augsburg University and Occidental College in consecutive 5-3 losses on Wednesday. The Auggies rallied back to knot it at three runs apiece to force extra innings and the eventual win, while four runs by Oxy in the sixth frame lifted the team to victory.

    In back-to-back victories, the Albertus Magnus College softball team opened the 2024 campaign in the Sunshine State after notching double-digit runs against Wilmington College (Ohio) and Saint Mary's College (Ind.) on Sunday. The Falcons swept their non-conference doubleheader after defeating the Quakers, 10-2, and the Belles 12-6 off the bats of Paige Scheid (Cedar Grove, N.J.) with a team-leading four runs and Hailey Laforte (Branford, Conn.), who posted a team-high four runs batted in. Scheid also brought home a trio of Falcons, while Laforte recorded three runs.
