Albertus Magnus Athletics and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee To Host Bone Marrow Registry Drive

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department and its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) are teaming up to host the College's second annual bone marrow donor registration drive on Thursday, March 21.

The event will take place in the campus Dining Hall (located on the second floor of the Student Center) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All members of the Albertus Magnus community and surrounding communities are invited to participate.

Last year's inaugural event at Albertus Magnus College resulted in the match of two donors. NMDP representatives (formerly known as the National Marrow Donor Program and Be the Match) will again be on-site to assist. The initial event was also supported by the Albertus Magnus men's lacrosse team in support of one of its student-athletes, Will Capalbo, and in memory of Will's brother, Charlie.

Advance registration is not required for participants. Upon checking in at the registration table, participants will be given a QR code to complete the registration process, which will take only a few minutes. From there, a simple, painless cheek swab will be administered in order to be added to the registry.
