NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In this week's "Taking Flight" Players of the Week, Albert Molina (Terryville, Conn.) took care of business on the mound for the Albertus Magnus College baseball team, while Amber DeJonge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) exploded offensively for the women's lacrosse team.
For baseball's first Great Northeast Athletic Comferemce victory this season, first-year Molina pitched a complete game for the 9-3 win over the visiting Norwich University. Molina posted a 2.00 ERA on six hits, three runs and struck out a trio of Cadets.
In women's lacrosse's first conference win this season, DeJonge tallied her first hat trick as Falcon and assisted in one goal in the 16-7 win at Mitchell College. The midfielder delivered back-to-back goals in the first to quickly put Albertus up, 5-0, and collected three groundballs and seven draw controls.
