Rick Malafronte was named head golf coach at Albertus Magnus College in November, 2023, as announced by Director of Athletics Michael Kobylanski.

"I am thrilled to welcome Rick to our Albertus Magnus athletics family," Kobylanski said. "Rick brings a unique perspective as both a former college student-athlete and an accomplished amateur golfer. Through our conversations leading into this appointment, it was evident that he is extremely driven to continue the recent success of our men's golf program. He is eager to seek all avenues to identify talented student-athletes for our men's team, while also doing the same on the women's side as we look to formally add that program into our offerings in the future."

Malafronte has had a distinguished amateur career in Connecticut during his time on the links.

In 2023, Malafronte captured the New Haven Country Club Senior Club Championship. He also finished tied for ninth in both the Connecticut Senior Open and the New England Senior Amateur and reached the quarterfinals of the Connecticut State Senior Match Play tournament just a year after reaching the semifinals.

Malafronte also has two top-five finishes in the Connecticut Senior Amateur, including second place in 2020, and was a member of the Connecticut Team for the annual Tri-State matches in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023.

"I coached my kids forever. I love doing it. I am looking forward to it," Malafronte said. "Our goal is to win our conference and go to the NCAA tournament yearly."

Malafronte earned his Bachelor's Degree from Clark University and graduated from Quinnipiac Law School in 1986.
