Three Falcons Named to GNAC All-Conference 3rd Team

Three members of the Albertus Magnus baseball team have earned 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as announced by the league office on Monday.  Anthony Pellegrino (Branford, Conn.), Justin Poirier (Meriden, Conn.), and Tyler Robertson (Cheshire, Conn.) were each named to the GNAC All-Conference Third Team, while Pellegrino earned Third Team honors as both an outfielder as well as utility player.

Pellegrino saw time in the outfield as well as on the mound for the Falcons this season.  He led the team with 20 RBI in 2015, while adding 22 hits, 20 runs scored and three doubles. He also walked 24 times and batted .262 on the year.

The senior tallied one win from the hill in five starts for Albertus.  He pitched 25.1 innings and allowed 12 earned runs, while striking out 21 batters.

Robertson led the Falcons with 21 runs scored.  He tallied 30 hits, four doubles and 14 RBI.  He also registered three stolen bases and batted .316 on the year.

Poirier led the Falcons with 33 hits, including nine doubles, and a .347 batting average.  He added 17 RBI, 20 runs scored and six stolen bases.

Senior Arber Mehmedi (Naugatuck, Conn.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the Falcons.
