Winthrop, Mass. – Senior Andrew Scully (Stratford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College baseball team earned All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

The GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team was also announced on Monday afternoon and senior relief pitcher Tom Moore (East Haven, Conn.) represented Albertus Magnus on the squad.

Scully received first-team distinction for the first time in his career thanks to a league-high 10 home runs to go along with a team-high .385 batting average. He finished out his senior year leading the team in RBI (22), runs scored (30), hits (37) and doubles (8). The three-time GNAC Player of the Week finished with a .512 on-base percentage as well as collected seven stolen bases and 19 extra-base hits. The 6-3 righty from Stratford also made four appearances on the mound for the Falcons and recorded seven strikeouts over five innings. Towards the end of the season, Scully became the 15th player in program history to collect 100th career hits.

Moore wrapped up the 2017 campaign ranked top five in the GNAC in saves as well as posted an overall record of 2-1. This season, he pitched over 27 innings and recorded a career-high 26 strikeouts.

The Albertus Magnus College baseball team finished the 2017 season with a 10-21-1 overall record and earned the No. 6 seed in the GNAC Tournament thanks to posting a 5-9 mark in conference contests. The Falcons saw their season to come to an end with a setback against third-seeded Lasell College in the opening round of the league tournament.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region.
