Winthrop, Mass. – Senior Matt Warren (Wolcott, Conn.) and freshman Ike Flannery (Wethersfield, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College baseball team earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors after their performance in the Falcons' season opener on Sunday afternoon.

Warren was named the GNAC Player of the Week, while Flannery earned GNAC Rookie and Pitcher of the Week.

Warren went 3-for-6 with a career-high six RBI on Sunday as the Falcons soared past Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.), 16-4, in non-conference play. The senior infielder finished the game with two doubles and a run scored. 

Flannery earned his first collegiate victory in the Falcons' non-conference win over the Knights. The rookie threw six relief innings of two-run ball (one earned) with three strikeouts for a 1.50 ERA on the afternoon. 

The Falcons return to the diamond on Wednesday, March 4, with a road showdown against in-state foe Eastern Connecticut State University. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Mass.
