HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1
Following a scoreless top of the first inning, the Falcons opened game one's scoring in the home half of the frame. Lewczyk began the inning with a lead-off double down the left-field line. After getting to third on a fly-out, Lewczyk was driven home on the next at-bat on a towering Jason Sullivan (Meriden, Conn.) homer to center field. Up 2-0, Albertus put two more on with a single and a walk. Bobby Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) loaded the bases with a single to left before Broadhurst cleared the bags with a double down the left-field line to make it a 5-0 game.

Tyler Baldwin (Cromwell, Conn.) continued his stellar start to the game, retiring the side 1-2-3 in the top of the second. The Falcons' offense rewarded their pitcher with another run in their half of the frame. Sullivan smacked a deep fly to right-center, earning a three-base error after the center fielder could not make the catch for the third out. Sean Jefferson (West Haven, Conn.) followed up shortly after, singling to left to widen Albertus' lead to 6-0.

Baldwin continued to keep the Chargers off the scoreboard with scoreless third and fourth innings. The sophomore worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth, inducing a fly-out to end the threat.

The Falcons looked primed to add to their lead in the bottom of the fourth, loading the bases with one out. Ron Losacano (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Jefferson singled, while Shawn Smith (Shelton, Conn.) worked a walk. Unfortunately for AMC, the Charger's relief pitcher, Matt Miller, got out of the jam with back-to-back strikeouts.

Colby-Sawyer burst onto the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning, hanging a four-spot on the board to bring its deficit to two, 6-4. An error and two singles quickly loaded the bases for Cooper O'Brien, who sent a grand slam over the center-field fence.

After a scoreless fifth, the Falcons answered the Chargers with a massive bottom of the sixth inning. Albertus tallied seven runs on eight hits and no errors to build a commanding 13-4 advantage. Losacano began the frame with a lead-off single before scoring on a Jefferson homer to left field. Three straight singles then loaded the bases for Broadhurst, who smacked a two-RBI single to right. Murphy capped off the high-scoring frame with a three-run blast to left center that plated Broadhurst and Arent.

Stinson entered in relief of Baldwin in the top of the seventh and sealed the GNAC victory with a 1-2-3 frame, striking out the game's final batter.

Murphy followed with a double to plate Ramos, while a Lewczyk single brought Murphy and Arent across.
