Baseball Tabs Five to Academic All-District® Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College baseball team placed five student-athletes on the 2023 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, formerly CoSIDA. Honored for their combined academic and athletic achievements were Anthony Broadhurst (Stratford, Conn.), Nick Ramos (Mineola, N.Y.), Bobby Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.), Alex Kozlowski (Shelton, Conn.) and Caden Cloutier (Wallingford, Conn.).

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 6 for softball and June 7 for baseball. 

2022-23 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams

Broadhurst played in 20 games for the Falcons as a catcher, starting in 11. He had 15 hits and six doubles on the season with a .294/.439/.412 slash line. Along with seven runs and 10 RBI, Broadhurst also had a 1.000 fielding percentage rate. On the academic side, Broadhurst posts a 3.56 cumulative grade-point average and majors in criminal justice.

Ramos played in 28 games this season, starting in 27 as a catcher. During his 84 at-bats, Ramos tallied 20 hits including three doubles and two home runs for a .238/.366/.345 slash line. Ramos scored eight runs on the season, while also driving in 10. In the classroom, Ramos is pursuing a major in history and has compiled a 3.57 cumulative GPA.

Arent accumulated 27 hits with 10 doubles for a .281/.379/.385 slash line during his junior season as an infielder. In his 33 games played and 32 starts, Arent compiled 12 RBI and 15 runs while fielding at a .944 percentage rate. Arent boasts a 4.0 cumulative GPA while studying accounting.

Kozlowski started in 25 games for the Falcons, while seeing time in 25. In his 68 at-bats, Kozlowski had 17 hits including two doubles and one triple for a .250/.329/.309 slash line. On the season, he had nine RBI and 11 runs scored with a .889 fielding percentage rate. Kozlowski has a 3.83 cumulative GPA and is majoring in computer information systems.

Cloutier pitched in 12 games for a total of 10.2 innings pitched. He accumulated a 12.74 ERA, allowing 25 hits and15 earned runs. Cloutier also struck out three from the mound. In the classroom, Cloutier is majoring in biology and posts a 3.76 cumulative GPA.
