PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Albertus Magnus College baseball team lost a 7-0 game to Johnson and Wales University (JWU) on Tuesday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tilt.

The Falcons had just two hits as Eric Galarza (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Bobby Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) each had a single.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After the Falcons went down in order in the top of the first, JWU scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the innint as Trevor Juan had an RBI double to make it a 1-0 game.
  • Albertus got its first runner on base in the top of the third as Colin Telford (Branford, Conn.) was hit by a pitch, but he was stranded on third base. After going the first four innings without a hit, Galarza and Arent both singled in the top of the fifth with one out, but the Falcons were unable to capitalize.
  • The Wildcats scored a run apiece in the third, fourth and fifth innings, including an RBI double by Xavier Botelho that made it a 4-0 game. In the sixth, JWU blew the game open, scoring three runs as Riley Hasson hit a tw-run double in the inning. Albertus would have just three runners on base the rest of the way.
