LYNN, Mass. — The Albertus Magnus College baseball team fell to Fisher College on the road in an 11-2 game one loss, but battled hard in a tough 7-6 loss in the second game on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first inning, Yariel Salinas doubled to drive in two runs before Vance Ward (Meriden, Conn.) narrowed the deficit to one in the top of the second off a single to first base and allowed Troy Piascik (East Haven, Conn.) to cross home. Piascik led off the frame with a single to right field before advancing to third base off a fielding error by the right fielder.
• The hosts tacked on eight more runs across the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings before Tyler Czeremcha (New Britain, Conn.) hydrated the scoring drought with a groundout to short as Eric Galarza (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored. Two consecutive walks put Piascik and Galarza one base before Jason Sullivan's (Meriden, Conn.) popup allowed the pair to advance a base.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jason Sullivan (Meriden, Conn.) doubled to right field for an RBI as Shawn Smith came home in the top of the second frame to put the Falcons up, 1-0. Albertus kicked off the inning with a pair of singles off the bat of Smith and Piascik.
• Fisher put one run on the board in the second before a sacrifice fly allowed Anthony Abate (Naugatuck, Conn.) to score as Albertus regained the lead in the third.
• The host retaliated with another run in the bottom of the third, but Colin Telford (Branford, Conn.) grounded out to allow time for Sullivan to ignite a mini-rally in the fourth.
• With two outs on the scoreboard in the fourth, Adriel Espada (Bridgeport, Conn.) doubled to left center to send Tyler Harger (North Haven, Conn.) home, followed by a three-bagger deep into right-center by Abate at the next at-bat brought Espada back across the plate to pad the lead to 5-2.
• In the fifth frame, Fisher closed the gap to within one run, but a wild pitch in the dirt gave King Rivera (Bridgeport, Conn.) to return home to maintain a 6-4 lead in the sixth inning.
• However, a strong Fisher sixth frame saw a trio of runs scored ignited by back-to-back doubles.
