NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College field hockey team had nine players named to the 2023 Division III National Field Hockey Coaches' Association National Academic Squad.
The recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have attained a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year who were nominated by NFHCA coaches.
There were 1,783 student-athletes from 154 institutions.
The following members of the Albertus field hockey team were honored:
- Liane Botes (Milford, Conn.)
- Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.)
- Amber DeJonge (Grand Rapids, Mich.)
- Madelyn Gootjes (Quispamsis, New Brunswick)
- Sarah Hoffman (Springfield, Va.)
- Laurel Maus (Woodbridge, Conn.)
- Briony Retasket (Beaverton, Ore.)
- Paige Scheid (West Orange, N.J.)
- Melina Tarzia (Stamford, Conn.)
