Falcons Earn Dramatic Win Late in Second Half 91-85

 

New Haven, CT- On Tuesday night, The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team used a late second run to earn a 91-85 win over visiting Johnson and Wales University.  The Falcons trailed 40-35 at halftime with leading scorer Ray Askew with only three points.  Albertus trailed 63-51 with 11:03 remaining in the game.  Ray Askew's (Hamden, CT) three-point play capped an 11-2 run to take the 83-77 lead with 2:44 remaining.  The Falcons made clutch free-throws in the remaining minutes to seal the victory.  Askew scored 24 second half points for a total of 27 points to go along with a team high eight rebounds.  Junior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT) had a career high 34 points and 10 steals to lead the Falcons.  Johnson and Wales University was led by sophomore guard Calvin Jones (Providence, RI) and his team high 19 points and seven assists.  Albertus improves to 18-6, 14-3 GNAC while Johnson and Wales drops to 11-13, 8-9 GNAC.  The Falcons look to wrap up first place in the GNAC on the road in Boston against GNAC opponent Suffolk on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
