New Haven, CT - Senior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley) scored 28 points on 10-20 shooting including a career high seven from beyond the three point line to lead Albertus Magnus College to a 99-82 victory on Sunday afternoon. Junior forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT/Career) chipped in a game high 31 points and 11 rebounds for the Falcons.
Albertus trailed just 44-42 at the half despite shooting just 3-11 from beyond the arc.
The Falcons used a 14-1 run in middle of the second half to pull away from Becker. The run was capped by a St. Juste lay-up to give the Falcons the 84-69 lead with 5:35 left to play. Albertus would hold a double digit lead the rest of the way and cruise to a 99-82 victory.
Becker College was led by senior center Trae Jacobs (Lexington Park, MD/Great Mills) who had a team high 25 points to go along with seven rebounds in a losing effort.
Albertus Magnus improves to 1-1, 0-0 GNAC on the season while Becker College suffers it's first loss and is 3-1, 0-0 NECC this season.
The Falcons host Mitchell College on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in a non-conference match-up.
