Falcons Upended 79-70 by Trinity College

New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team made a late run in the second half but ran out of time as visiting Trinity College defeated the Falcons 79-70 on Thursday night.  Albertus struggled all night from the floor shooting just 30.6% from the field and 22.7% from beyond the arc.

Trailing 34-21 at the half, Albertus struggled to find their shooting touch but would make a 10-0 run with just under 6 minutes remaining to cut the score to 70-55.  Another late second half surge saw the Falcons cut the lead to under 10 but their comeback came up short.

Albertus was led by junior forward Ray Askew (New Haven, CT/Hamden) and his game high 26 points and game high 15 rebounds including 15-17 from the free-throw line.  Senior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley) added 15 points.

Trinity received a balanced scoring attack with three players in double figures.  Senior guard Brian Ford (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) scored a team high 14 points and six rebounds.  Senior forward Luke MacDougall (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W. Baker)  and sophomore forward Adam Skaggs (Framingham, MA/Phillips Academy) chipped in 12 points each.

Albertus drops to 7-7, 5-2 GNAC while Trinity College improves to 9-6, 1-1 NESCAC.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday when they travel to Boston, MA to take on Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Suffolk University at 1:00 pm.
