Three Falcons Earn GNAC All-Conference Honors; Watson, Ljuljdjuraj Players of the Year

Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.), Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), and Eian Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) of the Albertus Magnus men's basketball team were named to the 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team, while Watson and Ljuljdjuraj earned Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.

Watson, who is a two-time All-Conference First Team selection, earns his second major GNAC honor as he was named the GNAC Rookie of the Year in 2011. He was named the GNAC's 2014 Player of the Year.

Watson put together a fantastic year as he led the #14 Falcons to a 23-2 regular-season overall record.  With a career-high 36 points in his final regular-season home game in the Nest, Watson became the third Falcon to score over 2,000 career points.

The senior leads the GNAC in total points and points per game with 21.9.  He also ranks 13th in the nation with his 21.9 points per game average.

In his first season with the Falcons, Ljuljduraj led the Falcons and was second in the GNAC with 10.7 rebounds per game.  His 3.74 blocks per game also led the league and is third in the nation.  With his defensive efforts this season, he was named the 2014 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Davis, also in his first season with the Falcons, was the third Albertus men's basketball player to earn a spot on the First Team.  Davis is ranked second in the nation with 7.6 assists per game, while leading his team and the GNAC.  Davis has also averaged 15.3 points per game for the Falcons.

In addition, freshman Tre'Von Gibbs (Waterbury, Conn.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

For the third time in school history, the Falcons produced the GNAC Player of the Year in both men's and women's basketball as Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) was tagged as the GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year for 2014.  In 2010, Ray Askew and Kendrea Walker earned the honors, while in 2005 Tim Russell and Natalia Perlaza were tagged as GNAC Players of the Year, respectively.
